Diane Mary Januszak born September 6, 1949 was 69 years old and resided in Sacramento, California. She passed away on Sunday, November 11, 2018 at Mercy General Hospital due to the complications of Lewy Body Dementia with Parkinson’s features.
She was born on September 6, 1949 in Freeport, New York to Clifford and Jeanne Smothergill. She had two sisters, Susan and Martha (who died in 2003) and two brothers Donald and Mark. She received an AA degree in nursing from Sacramento City College and became a registered nurse, working for Mercy General Hospital and Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital and later as a medical coding specialist for EM Code in Roseville, California and then for Mercy General Hospital before retiring.
She was an avid gardener and loved reading books, doing jigsaw puzzles, traveling, and watching movies, especially Hallmark movies.
She was a devout Christian who prayed often for her family and friends and had a strong desire to finish strong for the Lord.
She is survived by her spouse Joseph A. Januszak, who she married on October 7, 1995, her son Toby Mikelbank and his wife Amy, her son Geoff Franken and his wife Alicia, and her daughter Kathryn E. Gerber. She had nine grandchildren: Geoffrey and Valarie by Geoff, Katlin, Brooke and Logan by Toby, and Austin, Isaiah, Alexandria by Kathryn and Emma by Sandro and Kathryn Gerber.
The viewing for Diane will be held at Mount Vernon Memorial Park, 8201 Greenback Lane, Fair Oaks, California 95628 on November 20, 2018 from 4PM to 8PM and her service will be at the same location on November 21, 2018 at 12PM in the large chapel, after which there will be her graveside service, followed by a reception.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to Alzheimer or Parkinson’s organizations would be greatly appreciated.
Her life can be summed up using the first three parts of the fruit of the spirit: love, joy and peace with and in the Lord Jesus.
