Don was born on January 8, 1936 in Birmingham, AL and passed away on January 20, 2012 at the age of 76. He served his country as a Captain in the USAF for 23 years. He loved handball, golf, bowling, his collection of old movies, and a good cigar while watching the Crimson Tide play. Don was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and uncle who will be deeply missed by his wife of 47 years, Kay, his sons Lance and Clint, grandaughters Morgan and Taylor, and his many friends and family. He was preceded in death by his parents Bertis and Annie Mae, and sister Jo. Don was laid to rest with military honors at Mount Vernon Memorial Park in Fair Oaks, CA. There will be a memorial celebration of his life at 11am on Tuesday, January 31 at the United Methodist Church, 2101 Zinfandel Dr. in Rancho Cordova. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the church.
