Dorothy June Kerekes

June 6, 1916 – April 5, 2017

At age 100, Dorothy passed away peacefully in Rancho Cordova, CA, her hometown of 58 years. Dorothy was born in the Presidio of San Francisco. She is preceded in death by parents White and Minnie Roberson, sister Juanita Gray, husband Jess, son Gary and grandson Jordan Barkey.

Dorothy had a zest for life which was reflected in her love of family and friends through life’s joys and heartbreaks. Raised in and married into the military life, she loved her country and her God. The “Hotdog” lady and money counter at St. John Vianney Parish, “Cookie” lady at Mather AFB Hospital, gold card member of Sports Leisure Travel, Hawaii sojourner and loyal fan of Cordova High’s Big Red tradition led A Life Well Lived and Well Loved!

She is survived by sister Audrey Malone, children Jess (Sandy), Ronald (Fay), Karen Barkey (Richard) and Kenneth, grandchildren Julie Gomez, Monica Gomez, Heather Kirschenman, Scott Kerekes, Gregory Kerekes, Kelly Kerekes, Dustin Barkey, Alex Kerekes and Lucas Kerekes, great grandchildren Rachelle Reams, Taylor Gomez, Denvor Gomez, Kyle Wardell, Jeffery Kirschenman and Kaden Barkey.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Monday, April 17, 2017, 11:00 am at St. John Vianney Church, 10497 Coloma Rd, Rancho Cordova. A reception will follow.
