Edna Norman passed away on October 31, 2024 at the young age of 91. Edna was born on June 22, 1933 in Klamath Falls, Oregon and moved to California when she was very young. Edna was a proud graduate of Sacramento High School in 1950 at the age of 16. After high school she worked for the Sacramento Superior Court where she met her best friend, Pat Elsesser, whom she credits with pulling her out of her shell. Edna was a very independent and strong woman when she met her loving husband, Harold “Harry” Norman. It was important to Edna that she was out of her teens when they got married and she wanted to be a June bride, so the wedding was five days after her 20th birthday, on June 27, 1953.
Simply put, Edna was an amazing person and truly one of a kind. Edna enjoyed life to the fullest and went out of her way to make sure others were having fun as well. She traveled the world with her husband, Harry, first as a military wife, and then with their best friends, be it on a cruise or visiting another country or two. Everyone she met soon became fast friends or adopted family because of her fun loving and caring nature. The thing she loved the most was spending time with her family whether it was going on trips, to the theatre, dinner, playing cards or just sitting together visiting or watching a movie. Edna met every challenge her family faced head on and supported everyone else in doing so along the way. Her family always came first and she would drop everything for someone in need. Her children and grandchildren will tell you that she was by far the best mother and grandmother that ever existed.
Edna was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend. She is survived by her children, Gary (Genice) Norman, Lori (Don) Kalisiak and Vicki (John) Hartigan; grandchildren, Wes (Sara) Norman, Jacob Kalisiak, Shelby (Kyle), Ashley Hartigan and Seth Hartigan; great grandchildren, Wyatt, Hunter and Allie Norman; nephew Bob (Joyce) Robbins and niece Kathy (Bill) Wilt; as well as her loving in-laws and friends. While the loss felt by Edna’s family is immense, they are happy that she has been reunited in Heaven with the love of her life and husband of almost 70 years, Harry, her oldest daughter, Pam, her father, Lester Robbins, mother Louise Robbins and brother, Richard Robbins, as well as the rest of her wonderful family, in-laws and friends that were waiting for her. There is no doubt that Edna will be continuing her shenanigans and catching up with all her friends and family in Heaven. Words cannot express how thankful her family and friends are for being graced to have Edna in their lives for the time she graced the Earth.
