Geraldine Johanson Ditore

Gerry passed away peacefully on August 13, 2023, at the age of 96. She was born in St. Louis, MO to Karl and Elna Olsen. On December 27, 1948, she married the love of her life, Michael Ditore. They moved to southern California eventually settling in Sacramento where they raised their four children. She loved being a wife and mother and was a meticulous homemaker for most of her life. After her children were grown, she returned to college earning a BS in Accounting. Thereafter, she worked for the State of California in several different departments.

Gerry was a member of Toastmistress and won numerous public speaking awards. She was also a member and officer of many community and national charitable organizations, and an excellent bridge player. She mostly enjoyed spending time with her husband, children and family camping, traveling, dancing and entertaining. Preceded in death by her husband, Mike, all three of her sisters and brothers-in-law, and her sons Richard and Mark. She is survived by her son, Stephen Ditore and Daughter, Deborah Ditore and numerous nieces and nephews. Deeply loved as a wife, mother and friend, she will be missed forever.

A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, September 28, 2023 at 1:00 pm at Mount Vernon Memorial Park, 8201 Greenback Lane, Fair Oaks, CA.
