Joan Hiles

Preceded in death by her husband, Elton "Bud" Hiles, and daughter Beth Hiles. She is survived by her sons Russ (Monica) and Scott (Anne); grandchildren Taryn, Roslyn, Mike, Megan, Barry, Ellen, Caitlin and Jacob; and her great-grandchildren Abigail and Derek.

Joan loved to play golf with Bud, traveling that always included The Little River Inn and playing bridge with Bud and their wonderful friends. But her longest and most sustaining joy was one of being one of the founding members of Winding Way Community Church, now Christ Community Church and the church Clipper Ship group that provided lifelong friends, fun and fellowship.

Joan worked part time in retail during the Holidays, was a Hallmark Greeting Card Service Representative, worked for JcPenny's at their Carmichael Catalog Call Center, and at Kaiser Hospital as a Volunteer for over 10 years.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at the Christ Community Church at 5025 Manzanita, in Carmichael, date to be determined. In lieu of flowers, Joan's family asks for any remembrances to be made to the Alzheimer's Association at www.alz.org.
