June D. Desper

June Dorothy Desper passed away on August 24, 2020 in Rancho Cordova, CA at the age of 94. Born in Edmonton, Alberta Canada on June 6, 1926 to her parents, John and Martha. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Charles. She is survived by daughter, Sharon and son, Ronald. Grandchildren Sara and John and son-in law Dave. Three great- grandsons Earle, Sean and Charles and their father Daniel. At the young age of 17, she moved one thousand miles to take a job at the American Army base in Prince Rupert, Canada. There she met a handsome young WWII American soldier and at the end of the war in 1945, they married and moved to Decatur, Illinois. She then went to work for the U.S. Govt until moving with her family to Sacramento in 1960. She was a mother, homemaker, and now an American citizen. She enjoyed her ladies groups for luncheons, golf, exercise, bowling, yoga and cooking classes. After her husband's death she officially got into the antique business. She moved to three different antique business locations in her 25 year "fun" job before she retired. She always enjoyed finding a good deal and sharing this news with her dear friends and family. She will be missed by all who knew her. She will be laid to rest at Mt. Vernon Memorial Park.
