Born on August 7, 1931, in Indio, California, Lawrence, known to most as Larry, was the beloved husband of Clydene Buchanan for 72 years, and a devoted father, grandfather, and friend.
Larry served on the front lines of the Korean War, driving for the U.S. Army's 6th Tank Battalion. After his service, he worked for Ford Motor Company in Milpitas for 28 years, where he was known for his strong work ethic and dedication. Once retired, he fulfilled a lifelong dream by building his own home in Redding, CA. He spent his retirement years restoring antiques and vintage cars, actively participating in car clubs, and proudly serving in leadership roles with the United Auto Workers (UAW).
Larry will be remembered for his quick wit, warm humor, and natural gift for storytelling. In his later years, he enjoyed winter trips to Yuma, Arizona, hosting memorable gatherings, including the celebration of his and Clydene’s 50th wedding anniversary, and dining out for Mexican food, where he never passed up a crispy chimichanga with a strong margarita.
He is survived by his loving wife Clydene, his son Michael, his daughter Denise, and his cherished grandchildren Nicole, Mikayla, and Davis.
