Lynn Elizabeth Jones

Lilian (Lynn) Elizabeth Jones, born on March 25, 1931 in Portsmouth, England, passed away on March 26, 2014. Preceded in death by her beloved husband of 45 years, Blaine W. Jones. Survived by her four children, Elizabeth Herring, Karyn Lininger, Steven Jones and Kelly Jones, eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Lynn spent her entire life caring for others. At the age of 18 she joined the Royal Air Force and served as a Midwife in Singapore. In 1959, she immigrated to America to marry her beloved and raised her four children. She travelled the world as the wife of an Air Force Airman retiring in Sacramento in 1973. She worked at Carmichael Convalescent Hospital caring for the elderly. She opened "Little Dumplings Day Care" and cared for infants up to 1993 when she retired to take fulltime care of her grandchildren. She was an avid reader, gardener, knitter and walker. She was a member of the Air Force Sargents Association and volunteered at McClellan Park and the North Highlands Food Closet knitting hats for children and helping the hungry.

She was strong, loving, funny and kind and she will leave a legacy of what it means to care for someone for eternity. This is what it is to be loved.

A funeral service for Lynn will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Mount Vernon Memorial Park & Mortuary, 8201 Greenback Lane, Fair Oaks ,California 95628
