Mom quietly departed this life on the evening of 1/9/2015 to rejoice in the love of God through our savior Jesus Christ. She was the 2nd of 5 children born punctually at 8 AM, 9/2/1921 to Clayton Claude & Emma Herring Seymore at 57 Harris St., Anderson, SC. The children names were Louise, Margaret, Clayton, Joe, and Harold with births from 1920 to 1928.
She grew up in a loving & hard working cotton mill family. Her father was a WWI purple heart veteran who bravely fought in the trenches of France & Belgium. She lost her mother on 7/21/1941 from an unsuccessful surgery. Her sister Louise & her future husband Jeruh Busbin introduced her to a handsome soldier, Thomas Burnette, who she married on 12/9/1943. Her husband was a WWII purple heart veteran & POW with a long military career. Margaret provided her husband and two sons a stable, punctual, cautious, detailed, well organized & loving home. The military life led to various homes in over 10 locations in the US, England, & Germany that started with Anderson, SC and ended in Fair Oaks, CA in 1971. After the loss of her husband from cancer on 7/24/2010, she continued to be very alert, active and maintained her routine by driving weekly to the beauty parlor until she suffered an illness with complications in 2013. She did not recover and the last year of her life consisted of many trips to her Dr.’s office, the hospital, and dedicated care by Mainline Care, Hospice, Dr. Homler, her sons, daughter-in-law, and grandson.
She is survived by her sons & spouses, Tom & LaVawn Burnette, Michael & Robin Burnette, grandchildren, Matthew Burnette of Sacramento, CA & Jamie Burnette York, grandchildren Adrien & Aliah York of Fairfield, CA, brother & wife, Joe & Jean Seymore of State College, PA & children Bill, Kevin, & Donna, nephew Eric Seymore of Easley, SC, & niece Marilyn Reesman of Lexington, KY.
