Margaret (Maggie/Markie) Terry, 76, of Rancho Cordova, CA passed away peacefully after a short battle with cancer on October 5, 2025. Maggie was born in San Francisco, to Bridget (Bee) and Joe Torrez, March 20, 1949. She grew up in San Francisco and San Pablo. She went to Richmond High where she met and married her high school sweetheart, Dennis Terry.
Maggie raised her family in San Pablo and Fairfield with her tight-knit family including the Terry, Torrez, and Trujillo families. Maggie retired from Solano Community College in 2007 as Admissions Registrar. She enjoyed her retirement traveling to see her grandchildren in Las Vegas and Southern California and siblings and family in Santa Fe, NM. She loved spending time with her daughter/best friend Julie on shopping sprees, the beauty salon, and casino trips all over California and Nevada. She loved Motown music, Grey's Anatomy, and the Giants. She never missed a game.
While petite in stature, Maggie was always large and in charge. Always head strong and determined! She was known for her big hair, classic style, and always looking her best. She had a quick wit and fierce independence to do things herself. She was a great cook and mastered the art of lasagna, macaroni salad, shrimp mousse, Italian Flag & Fortuna chocolate dessert. Until the end, she was directing her family and her health care decisions.

“Remember me in quiet days, while raindrops whisper on your pane. Remember in your memories have no grief, let the joy we knew remain. Remember me if once you wake, to catch a glimpse of red sunrise. Remember when your thoughts do turn to me, know that I would not have you cry, but live for me, and laugh for me. When you are happy so am I. Remember an old joke we shared. Remember me when spring walks by. Think once of me when you are glad and while you live, I shall not die! – Remember Me in Quiet Days
The staff of Mount Vernon Memorial Park wishes comfort and peace to your family.
