Marie McDaniel

Born October 30th 1949, in Salinas, California Marie was raised primarily by her mother Mildred “Louise” McCafferty. Louise and Marie developed an unbreakable bond and were best friends. As a child, Marie’s fondest memories were spending summers with her Grandmother Ila and playing with her many cousins.

As a teenager, Marie was blessed by her step-mother, GeRee with siblings, Shawnette and David (Davey) whom she embraced with unconditional love.

In 1967 Marie married Ralph Guarienti who served and died in the Vietnam War in 1968. Marie eventually married Grant McDaniel and together they had three children; Lance, Brandi, and Shanna. As a family they enjoyed adventurous family vacations and spending weekends with their tennis friends at Willow Creek. Marie discovered her passion for home makeovers and Japanese Maples. She took great pride in creating a beautiful yard which reflected her beautiful loving spirit.

The true loves of Marie’s life were her four grandchildren Gianna, Robby, Macy, and Taylor. She took great joy in helping raise them and being a part of their lives. Her loving and caring influence on her grandchildren was strong and will last forever.

After a too brief, but hard fought battle with cancer and its side effects, Marie passed away peacefully on July 6, 2017. She was comforted and surrounded by her loved ones.
