

Martin Scheeper 95, of Orangevale, CA. passed away peacefully on November 23rd 2017. Our family has lost a loving and supportive father and our country has lost another member of the greatest generation.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday November 30th 2017 at Mount Vernon Memorial Park, 8201 Greenback Lane. Fair Oaks, CA. Burial will follow immediately afterwards. Arrangements are made by Mount Vernon Memorial Park.
Martin was born in Massillion, Iowa to Henry and Martha Scheeper on April 28th 1922. He graduated from San Bernardino High School in San Bernardino, CA. In 1941, following High School he attended Los Angeles City College while working for Lockheed Aircraft as an Aircraft Plumber. In 1942 he joined the United States Army Air Corps and served as a waist gunner on B-17’s in the European theater from 1943 until the end of the war and was awarded multiple medals.
In 1952 he met his soul mate in Ruth Frost and on November 14th of that year they were married in Pasadena CA. He worked for the United States Postal Service for 20 years, initially as a mail clerk and eventually was appointed Post Master in Stateline CA. After retiring in 1972 he moved his family to Fair Oaks, CA and pursued a second career in Real Estate finally retiring for good in the late 1990’s. He was active in the Kiwanis Club for many years in Lake Tahoe, CA. and was a long time member of Christ Community Church in Carmichael, CA.
Martin is preceded in death by a son, Tom Burgess of Texas and a daughter, Ardita Garaci of Kentucky.
Martin is survived by his wife Ruth, Daughter Sheryl Scheeper of Jackson CA, Son Dan Scheeper of Rio Vista, CA. and Son Jerry Scheeper of Sacramento, CA. Grandchildren Stephanie Tatum of Roseville, CA, Heather Cannon of Brentwood, CA, Andrew Scheeper of San Diego, CA. and Paul Scheeper of Brentwood CA. as well as by four great grand children.

The family of Martin wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Dr. Allen Priest & Dr Orson Go, their staff and nurses, all of the Sutter Care at Home and Hospice Nurses, Therapists and aids. As well as the staff at Eskaton Fountainwood Lodge who all helped make his final months happy and allowed him to have the best possible quality of life right up to the end.
