Mary Jane Lawson

Mary Jane Lawson, a resident of Citrus Heights CA went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 20, 2016. She is survived by her husband Ed of 52 years, daughters Teri and Denise; sister Virginia, Grandchildren Georgia, Cheyenne, Keith, Ashley and Zemirah “Zemi”; and nephews Roy, and Steve, and niece Gretchen. Mary Jane was preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, son Richard, daughter Jennifer and granddaughter Grace.

Mary Jane was well liked by most that knew her; she loved children, especially her grandchildren. She volunteered at Redeemer Covenant Church checking in children for the Sunday program. She supplied cupcakes, chopped tomatoes, and salad for the Tuesday Night Dinner at Redeemer. She also assisted preparing the meal on the first Tuesday of the month.

She worked several years for the Tierra Del Oro Girl Scout Council. She also worked with her husband in the costume jewelry business servicing a major chain of drug stores. Her later years were spent working in the pension plan and cafeteria plan administration business. She loved to work, and enjoyed the social interaction.

Her passing was unexpected and she fought hard but lost the battle to an infection and heart failure. She is dearly missed by her family and friends.

Viewing will be held on Thursday, March 24 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. At Mt. Vernon Memorial Park 8201 Greenback Lane, Fair Oaks CA 95628. Interment will be with family. A Memorial Service will follow at Redeemer Covenant Church, 6800 Main Ave., Orangevale CA 95662 at 2:00 pm on March 25, 2016. Because she loved the little children so much we are asking that donations be made to the Children’s Wing Remodel at Redeemer Covenant Church in lieu of flowers.
