Mary Georgina Maldonado

Our Precious Mother Mary Georgina (Fernandes) Maldonado passed away peacefully in the presence of her husband and children on the afternoon of July 10, 2023, at the age of 83. Mary found true love in her marriage of 63 years to her high school sweetheart Lupe Maldonado. Mary treasured nothing more than her married life, raising her three children with love for God and all things family. She was a dedicated and doting wife, mother, and grandmother, an attentive and caring daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. Extraordinarily gifted in hospitality, she opened her heart and home to multitudes of family and guests to celebrate every occasion, unceasingly. With a bounty of her delicious homemade dishes, holidays we’re always immensely full of her generous love and graciousness.

Mary shined bright in many facets of work that she enjoyed: Volunteering at our school classrooms, baking sweets, and helping with school events. She also held employment as a yard duty at Coleman Elementary School. Along came many years of food catering and managing her L&M Deli, serving the community. Also Mary for a time was The First Lady of The Mexican Lion’s Club of Sacramento, where she continued her roles of service and charity. She was the center of our family with her open arms and unending love. Our Dear Mother will be tremendously missed.

Survived by her husband Lupe Maldonado. Her children, Gina, Derek, Lisa (Russell). Her grandchildren, Trey (Noelle), Darienne (Kurt), Logan, Blake, Mariah and Michael. Her great grandchildren, Reylan, Avelyn, Landon and Baby Luna. Her sister, Isabel Moreno and her children, Isabel, Brenda, Nicolas, Carol, and Jean. Comadres, Alyce Cervantes and Maxine DaCosta Proceeded by her parents, Georgina and John Fernandes. Her step father Justino Fernandes and Tia Vicencia Fernandes.
