
Mary was born in Lubrin, Spain, August 13, 1920, to Juan and Maria Perez. She passed away July 30, 2011. She came to the U.S. in 1931. She married Raymond Perez in Canton, Ohio, July 1, 1939. Mary was a native of Canton, Ohio, where she resided until she and her husband then moved to Orangevale, California, in 1971.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Raymond Perez Sr (1997), son Raymond Jr (1945), her daughter, Linda (2010), sister, Arnelia Deitz (2010) grandson, Robert St. Clair, parents Juan & Maria Perez, in-laws Jose & Aurora Perez. She is survived by her daughter Joyce (Gene) Rohrer. Her sisters: Juanita Loper, (Mauel deceased), Rolling Bluffs Estates, Ca, Rocio Strohmeyer (Tom) Canton, Ohio. Brothers: Antonio Perez, Fond du loc, Wisc., John Perez (Delores) Fitchberg, Wisc. Linda's first husband, Dale St.Clair (Sandy), Louisville, Ohio. Grandchildren: Joyce and Gene's sons, Gary Rohrer, Orangevale, Ca., Tim Rohrer (Rancho Cordova, Ca.) Linda and Dale's children: Lisa Stofle (Damon, fiance), Streetsboro, Ohio, Audrey Mash (Nick), Louisville, Ohio, Vickey Towne (Gregg), Ed St. Clair, Louisville, Ohio, Rhonda Spolar, Idaho. Great-grandchildren: Dana Stofle, Brandi and Nicholas Mash, Samantha Megan, Jasmine Towne, Cameron and Alex St. Clair, Jonathan Spolar. Great-great-grandchild Chelsie. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.
During WWII, Mary, worked as a crane operator for the Timken Roller Bearing Co. (now called the Timken Co.). She had to give up her job when the men returned home from the war. She was a homemaker until the girls were 6 and 9. She then went to work for the Hoover Co., in Canton and North Canton, Ohio. She started in the Navy Department, then making bags for the vacuum cleaners. She loved her job and took a lot of pride in her work. She worked there for 20 years.
She was a Past Matron, Eastern Star, Chapter #233, Folsom, Ca. She was a great seamstress, making many gowns for herself, as well as for her Eastern Star sisters. She was a great cook, especially her Spanish rice. YUM! She also loved going to Lake Tahoe, and Reno, with her family and friends.
