

Michael “Mike” Edward Marsh, 85, of Dixon, CA passed away in Orangevale on May 8th. Born on February 17, 1940 in Los Angeles, he was the son of the late Robert and Margaret (Leipski) Marsh. After graduating from high school, he attended a local junior college and CSULA, eventually graduating with a Civil Engineering degree. He then joined the Air Force in 1964 and saw the world while helping to defend our country. Once his time was up in the Air Force, he went to work for the Department of Defense, retiring in 1993. He married Geraldine “Jeri” Jamrog in 1969 and lived mainly in California with stays in Germany and Colorado, until finally settling down for good in Dixon in 1985.
He and Jeri traveled extensively while living in Germany, visiting several European countries and Egypt. They had so many memorable experiences, from looking for “Nessie” in Scotland to riding camels in Egypt and exploring the Pyramids.
His hobbies throughout the years included hunting, fishing, coin collecting and driving his classic Pontiac GTO. He volunteered at the Suisun Wildlife Center for many years post-retirement, saving and caring for a variety of birds, reptiles and other types of local wildlife.
Mike was predeceased by Jeri and brother Robert. He leaves behind daughters Susan Marsh of Orangevale, Karen (Donald) Beedy of Orangevale, Erica Schouten of Dixon, grandchildren Aidan Schouten, Avery Schouten, Alexis Schouten, Payton Beedy, Kinsley Beedy, Dustin Beedy, David Beedy, Megan (Beedy) Ford, great-grandson Dylan Beedy and in-laws from Massachusetts - Joseph Jamrog, Gwenn Dzierzanowski and Jonathan Jamrog.
His service will be held on Friday, June 27 at 9:30 AM at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon, where he and Jeri will be laid to rest together.
