Nella Mary Johnson was born on August 14, 1923, in Stockton, CA and went to the lord on Oct. 14, 2011. She was preceded in death by her son Richard Ayres, and step children Jimmy and Leonard Johnson and Christine Weathers. She is survived by her husband Vernon E. Johnson of 47 years, daughters, Vicki Meeks, Deedie Cunningham and Janet Pilliard, as well as step children, Richard Johnson and Eileen Lawson. She is survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren whom she cherished. Born into a close Italian family, her love of family was evident in her giving and loving actions throughout her life. Her faith in God guided her in all ways, and gave her courage. Family and friends are invited to a Visitation on Oct. 20 at Mount Vernon from 3-7 p.m. and a Memorial Service on Oct. 21 at 10 a.m. with an internment to follow at Mount Vernon Memorial Park.
