Morf was my brother in law and greatly loved by all.  He was always smiling and had a way of making every one feel like a million bucks.  He had a deep love of music and enjoyed listening to the piano being played.  He especially loved the trumpet.  He loved my sister and could not stand to have her gone from the room for very long with out telling her he loved her and she was very devoted to his care.  He will be greatly miss.  I know he is playing his trumpet in heaven's band.

We were saddened to hear of Morf's passing. When Mae, Morf and family came to Illinois to meet their "extended family," it felt like we all had known each other for years. From that first meeting, I realized that one of Morf's many talents, was that he could bring out the best in people. The kind of guy that could enter a room as a stranger, and later leave with a host of new friends. I will remember his hearty laugh, and knack for telling a good joke. Morf, we honor your life, big heart, and bigger than life personality. Our condolences to all of Morf's family and friends.

God blessed our Lee family from Illinois when we found Mae and Morf while Mae and I searched for our Lee roots and our family trees forever intertwined. We had the honor of meeting Morf on several trips he made with Mae and family to come to Illinois to meet her Lee family. It was an instant bond for us all and we all felt like we had always been a part of each other and had found that little something that had always been missing. What a wonderful man he was and what footprints he left on so many hearts in Illinois! We love you all and extend our deepest sympathy. Looking forward someday to that big family reunion in Heaven!

Morf was a breath of fresh air.

Just like me he enjoyed food and wine. At first I thought he was Italian. Warmth exuded from his pours . With Mae he became complete. His great smile will be missed. May he rest in peace

Morford was bigger than life itself; he was a man who could always make me feel right at home --- kind of like being the part of family I never knew as a child. He would always convey some very kind and thoughtful words while making me feel like I was somebody.  We would sit together watching TV and sometimes he would reach over and rub the top of my hand as if to silently say "it's nice having you here with us." Morf just had a way of making me feel like family and had a way of communicating with everyone he came in contact with him ... as to say; "aren't we having so much fun together, no matter what we're doing?" Yes, a dear part of our family who was truly a honorable man, gifted, he had talent, greatness as a professional in all he did for as long as he could, a real achievement in itself. Morf once told me: "If you ever want to know anything about medications, ask a pharmacist, not a doctor." Not that doctors don't know what they're doing, it's more about who's had a full and complete education in medications or phramaceuticals as a whole. Morf was just a versatile person with a kind heart, warm helping hand, a big smile shared with all, and most of all; part of my family that I could always be so very comfortable with. As I feel the same way with all of you there in Northern California, to include Morf's personal family as well. Thanks for allowing me to be the part of your family that you hardly see. Morf was a wonderful human being, a great friend, and a true family man. He had the best sense of humor and always had the biggest smile and laugh. Corner Drugs and Tai Tung made a great combination (chinese scrambled eggs was his favorite dish). We cherish our friendship over the years with the Morford family. Morf was part of our family functions, weddings, and graduations. He was an exceptional pharmacist and role model. We will forever remember Morf for being such a gentle, caring, and special friend.

Thank you for asking me to share your life with you. We have had many happy times together. I will always remember your charismatic personality and your wholehearted laugh. You made life so much fun and left a mark on every person you touched. Through all your ill-health, I never heard you complain once. I love you so very much, and will miss you always.

Your family has always had a special place in my heart as you were our neighbors in Woodland so many years ago.  Morf was the best neighbor to us kids ever.  I remember him making ice cream in the backyard. The great rides he gave us kids in his VW popping the clutch and jerking us all the way down the street, of course that was before seat belts!  It was so devestating to us when he decided to move all of you to Sacramento.  I was so sorry to hear of his passing.  Our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this most difficult time

“HEY! GUMBA!” 

That was the way Papa Morf said hello every time he answered the phone when I called, or walked through the door when I visited. Even if you weren't having the best day, you couldn't help but smile when you heard that infectious greeting. 

“The Big Guy” as my best friend Brian and I called him, had a gift in that he could make anyone feel like family. You wouldn't have known the difference between someone he met 5 minutes ago, and someone he's known his entire life. That's just who he was. From the time Papa Morf came into my life as a young child, I never looked to him as anything other than my grandpa. And that's because he always made me feel like I was truly his grandson.  

Every time I was on my way to visit Grandma and Papa Morf, I could always count on hearing a few different things. “Tell me about the chicks!” he would plead. Always wanting to get the inside scoop on who ever I might be dating. “Are you making any money?” Papa would ask. Making sure I was always doing well for myself. And finally, “Mangia, Mangia!” When it was time to eat, papa would never let you leave the table with an empty stomach. I'm sure there were others, but the moral being that Papa always asked and made sure I was well, because he truly did care. 

I sure will miss him, but the memories we shared are ones that will last a lifetime.

Cody

Mort or Papa as we sometimes called him was a wonderful step-dad for 24 years and he will be sorely missed.  He treated my son Cody like he was blood and Cody loved him very much as WE ALL DID.  Morf was supportive, non judgmental, positive and easy to talk to.  He had a light heart and easy to laugh with.  He always told me "don't sweat the small stuff" and even got me the book to read. We had a lot of great times together, we will never forget him.

Morf always seem so tall behind the pharmacy counter.  I remember him as a kind man.  He let me charge my daughters meds at the Corner Drug.  When I was a young girl  my friends and I used to buy our supply of candy there.  RIP Morf you were well liked in Carmichael.

Morf was paart of our family and we enjoyed being around him, we had good times and learned to love him very much. Ben and Josie Hamby

Mr Morford, as I called him was a man that I shall never forget.  He was my first boss and it was a pleasure to have worked for him. Not only did he love people but he loved his family.  How blessed they were to have him as their dad.  He was a legend and am so grateful for the many acts of kindness he blessed me with.  So many good memories that I shall never forget. Loved this man dearly.

My heart is breaking. I loved this man. He taught me to laugh and to love myself. He took me in like I was family. More than a boss ......more than a friend.......he was a gigantic part of my life . I remember the day I walked into the Corner Drug Store needing a job. I don't even know 
 what brought me there. Just a feeling. There was no help wanted sign or ad.
 I just went in on a whim. He was not there that day , but called me back and hired me just like that. 
 My angel on earth. God Bless you Morf . Forever in my heart.

"Morph", as I knew him as a kid, was always pleasant and friendly when we would come in to buy candy. I didn't see him for years until we met again at a Roseville Telephone share holders where I worked and he was a shareholder. Morph was a great guy that will be dearly missed. My condolences to the family.

Ormond was always the life of the party.  He was a great boss and friend to me. Many good times!
