Rachel Louise Luke

Rachel Louise Luke, aged 85, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 4, 2016 in Orangevale, CA. Rachel was born March 15, 1931 in Bell County, Texas, the youngest daughter of Nancy Francis Cantwell and Peter Thomas Mangan.

In addition to raising her children, she worked many years as a home health aide for Mt. Diablo Hospital. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, crocheting and gifting her family with her handmade items. She was a voracious reader who loved a good mystery. She also loved to garden and grow vegetables. Rachel was also a prayer warrior who consistently prayed for her friends and family; not just prayers to help them through the hard times, but with faith that every one of them would know Jesus Christ as their personal Saviour. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Orangevale.

Rachel is preceded in death by her parents, twelve siblings, sons Thomas “Buddy” Britt, Billy Don Luke, and Tom Luke; grandchildren Robert Luke and Julece Luke; and great granddaughter Ava-Jolece.

Rachel is survived by loving and devoted husband Don Luke of 52 years, and children Laura (Richard) Robinson, Jim (Kim) Luke, and Cathy (Chris) Kurtz and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Family and Friends are invited to a Funeral Service on December 14th, 2016 at 12pm at Mt. Vernon Memorial Park in Fair Oaks with an interment following the service. A reception will follow at First Baptist Church of Orangevale, located at 8998 Central Ave, Orangevale, CA 95662.
