Age 86, a resident of Sacra- mento, CA for 40 years, passed away on Thursday night, May 19, 2011 in her home in Davis, CA. Rebecca was born in Brooks, Georgia on March 13, 1925. She was the youngest of 5 siblings. Before she married Roy West in 1946, she was a tour guide at Bell Aircraft in Atlanta, GA and secretary to Mr. Orkin of Orkin Pest Control in Atlanta. Roy was an Air Force pilot and they lived in various locations including Florida, Kansas, Alabama and Puerto Rico. They retired in Sacramento where she made many wonderful friends. She loved bridge, golf & gardening. She hiked for many years with the Sierra Club and was a docent at the Railroad Museum in Old Sacramento. She was an excellent cook and hosted many wonderful dinner parties including family dinner at her home every Christmas Eve. Her daughter Leigh passed away from cancer in January. She is survived by her daughters, Sharon Rebecca Snyder and Melinda Moloney; her 2 sons-in-law, 6 grand- children and 1 great-grandchild. A memorial will be held in the family chapel at Mount Vernon Mortuary at 10am Tues. May 31. Reception to follow upstairs.
