

Richard graduated from Arcata High School in 1973, and attended College of the Redwoods, American River Junior College and Western Career College. After enlisting in the US Army, he did a tour in South Korea during the Vietnam era; served in law enforcement in Eureka, Ca.; last working as a LVN through UC Davis Medical Center.
He was extremely passionate about all aspects in life, including running, reading, boxing, an occasional Harley ride and visiting the beach. Richard was constantly looking for another avenue on learning and ways to indulge in his desire for knowledge.
He was born to Paul and Pauline Jimenez November 29, 1955, in Cloverdale, Ca. He is survived by his wife, Heidi Jimenez; brothers Pablo, Robert, Marty, and sister Rosie; by six children: Amy and Jason Jimenez, of Las Vegas, NV; Richard Jimenez, Jr. and Christa Jimenez Suarez, of Eureka, CA; Zoe Jimenez and Anthony Verdugo, of Sacramento, CA, and by eleven grandchildren. He also is survived by the mother to his four oldest children, Pamela Carey, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, May 31, 2013 at Mount Vernon Memorial Park in Fair Oaks, Ca.
