

Robert Eugene Crowell slipped away peacefully with his family by his side on January 22, 2012; he was 78. Robert was one of 7 children born in Fowler, CA to Lewis and Evalina Crowell on August 23, 1933. He graduated from Clovis High School in 1951. A career of truck driving took him over 3 million miles throughout our beautiful country. He had a zest for life and loved his family. In addition to being a published author he also enjoyed acting. In his early years he performed at the Pasadena Playhouse and on the Bob Hope Radio Show. For Robert no one was ever a stranger and friends and co-workers called him “Preacher Man” because he loved to share the gospel. He was a member of Capital Christian Center for 42 years and served as an Usher there for 25 years. Robert is survived by his devoted wife of 51 years Barbara, his daughters Linda (Allen) Padgett, Barbara (Joe) Sunderland and 5 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers and 3 sisters. Services will be at Mt. Vernon Memorial Park in Fair Oaks, CA. Visitation will be Saturday, January 28th from 4-7pm.
