It is with profound love and sadness that I share the passing of my sweet, thoughtful husband, Steven Michael Seale, on Sunday, September 28, 2025. Steve passed peacefully at our home in Lincoln, California, at the age of 64, after facing his illness with remarkable strength, grace, and unwavering courage.
Steve was born on July 8, 1961, at Travis Air Force Base in Fairfield, California . Over his lifetime, as the son of a Chief Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force, he lived at the Naha Air Force Base in Okinawa, Japan, - off base in Hampton, VA, and at the Grand Forks Air Force Base in Grand Forks, North Dakota. When his father, Lod Seale, was stationed in Vietnam he and his family moved back to Fairfield, California.
Steve is preceded in death by his father, Lod Seale. His paternal grandparents, Lod and Thelma Seale and his maternal grandparents, Frank and Edith Pelican.
Steve attended San Juan High School and upon graduating attended Sacramento State University. In 1984, he and his parents opened a sign business, Seale Signs, which they successfully operated for more than 40 years. During that time, they cultivated many relationships with customers, who to this day are still close friends of the family.
Steve was introduced to Marilyn (Dyer) Seale, by his sister, Laura, in the year 2000. Steve and Marilyn had an instant connection and were married in 2002. In 2006 they welcomed their son, Braeden Eliziah Seale. They treasured every moment and memory they created together as a family and felt truly blessed by him.
Surviving, is Steve’s wife, Marilyn. His son, Braeden. His mother, Sheila Mae Seale. His older brother, Daniel Wayne Seale and his younger sister, Laura Lynn Styler. Steve was also the loving Uncle to many nieces and nephews..
From the moment Steve entered the room, he brought light and laughter. His bright spirit was contagious, his laughter unmistakable, and his ability to connect deeply with people was a gift he gave freely and often. Whether he was telling a story, cheering someone on, or simply listening with his full heart, he had a way of making everyone feel seen, valued, and loved.
Steve was a devoted and endlessly loving Father, the kind of dad who showed up – for every game, event, performance, every moment. To me, he was not just a husband, but a true partner in every sense: supportive, encouraging, uplifting, and thoughtful – my greatest source of comfort and my best friend. His presence was a steady source of strength and joy in our home, and his absence is felt in every quiet space.
A lifetime athlete and passionate competitor, Steve completed multiple marathons, century bike rides and a triathlon - with drive that inspired and amazed everyone around him. He pushed himself with quiet discipline and encouraged others to reach beyond what they thought possible – not just in fitness, but in life. He believed in people, and because of that, so many people believed in themselves and what an incredible gift to impart on someone.
Even during Steve’s battle with cancer, he never complained – not once. Instead, he leaned on his faith and focused on comforting others, always more concerned with how we were doing than with what he was going through himself. That was just who he was – a fighter with a compassionate heart, and a man whose strength was only matched by his profound sensitivity to how those around him were feeling.
Steve was so deeply loved by all who knew him – family, friends, coworkers, customers, team mates and neighbors. His impact stretched far beyond our home, and I know his light will continue to shine in the lives he touched, the knowledge he shared and the love he gave so selflessly and generously.
A Celebration of Steve’s Life will be held immediately following this service at Old Town Pizza in Roseville and we would love for all of you to join us there.
Thank you to everyone who has supported us with love and prayers during this difficult time. The care and compassion you have shown our family means more to us than we could ever adequately express.
Until we’re joined in Heaven, all my love…
Marilyn ~
