Susan Oettle

In loving memory of Susan Elizabeth Oettle who died peacefully at her home in Orangevale on March 19, 2025 with her loyal husband Alfred by her side. Born on June 4, 1955, in Carmichael, Sue grew up in a lively household with her five siblings and parents. Through church, she met Alfred, her husband of 48 years. Sue was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother “Mema”, friend, sister, aunt and neighbor who treasured her family, friends, and faith.

She was a lifelong educator and avid gardener who loved to entertain family and friends. Her legacy will live on through her daughters, Sarah (husband Bob) and Jessica (husband Brett), and grandchildren Dylan, Kuiper and Maylynn.

During her battle with ovarian cancer, Sue inspired us with her bravery, patience, and perseverance, along with her kind and gentle disposition. Throughout her life, Sue’s caring presence, joyful laugh, and dedication to her family and friends touched so many.
