
Valerie was born on May 5, 1957. She attended Foothill High School and went on to build a life centered around caring for others, both personally and professionally. Throughout her career, she worked in various roles, including with Social Services and the Department of Water Resources, where her compassion and dedication to helping others were evident.
Valerie was a selfless and devoted mother, wife, and friend. She put her children and family first in all things and cared deeply for those around her. Her friendships were meaningful and lasting, and she had a way of making people feel truly seen and valued.
She had a passion for her family and for life itself. She found joy in gardening and treasured trips to the coast with her loved ones. Valerie’s infectious laugh and vibrant personality could light up any room, and her warmth left a lasting impression on everyone she met.
Valerie was preceded in death by her son, Alex Cox; her parents, Frank and Dolores Vaccaro; and her siblings, Carol Gilman and Larry Vaccaro.
She is survived by her husband, Mike Cox; her sons, Michael Cox and James Cox; her daughter-in-law, Amanda Cox; and her beloved grandchildren, Emma Cox and Tyler Cox.
Valerie leaves behind a legacy of family who remember her as a caring, compassionate woman whose love, laughter, and spirit will continue to live on through them.
