Virginia was born on February 10, 1931 to Felice and Sarafina (Faccinto) Salvatore. She had an older brother, Al Salvatore, and a younger sister, Bernice Dirlam (Salvatore). Both preceded Virginia in death. Not long after graduating from Roosevelt High School in Fresno, she moved with a friend to San Francisco where they lived for several years. She met her first husband, Harry Lamont while living in San Francisco. They eventually married in 1955 and had one son, Michael Anthony, who was born in 1957. In 1978, she married Lloyd Farley, and they were married until his death in 2005.
Virginia enjoyed road trips and the casino; she especially liked playing video poker. She was also a member of the American Business Women's Association for many years. Lloyd and Virginia called Las Vegas home for 20 years before moving to Sacramento, California. She remained active and independent until recently. Sadly, she passed away on January 31, 2024 after a short illness. Michael and her cousin, Patricia (Pam) Spence would like to thank the doctors and staff at Mercy Hospital for their exemplary care and support while she was in their care. She is survived by her son, Michael and grandson, Kilajuwon, as well as several cousins, friends, and neighbors. She will be greatly missed.
Graveside services will be held on February 23, 2024 in Fair Oaks, California. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the American Cancer Society in Virginia’s memory.
