

William (Bill) Frank Williams passed away on February 24, 2002 in Stockton, CA. Born on February 6, 1921 in Perry, Iowa, the son of Frank and Alma with two older sisters Vonne (or Aunt Bing) and Margaret. As a young man growing up during the depression he gained a strong will, strong principles, and conviction in actions. In love he wed Vivian Pearl (Sargent), and fathered Marcia Lee, Dianne Vivian, Katherine and William Frank, JR with 5 grandchildren Steve, Kirsten, Star, Candice, Nicole, and 3+ great-grandchildren. From his academic development at Drake and UCLA to his technical depth and creative spirit he submitted numerous patents and publications during his career evolving Satellite Antenna technologies and theory for U.S., such as WF Williams Cassegrain System, Ammerman & Viglietta Patents and Deep Space Network (DSN) Antenna System Configuration for Voyager. For years he loved Porsches with his 56 Red Speedster and 60 White Coupe. He was an active Porsche Club of America (PCA) member living in Sunnyvale, CA. In later years, he enjoyed camping and travel to Europe and Mexico and loved visiting his children and grandchildren. His family wishes to express thanks to all his devoted caretakers and nurses, especially Delane at the Valley Gardens Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Stockton. Services held at Mount Vernon Memorial Park & Mortuary in Fair Oaks, where he will rest. (Published in the Sacramento Bee on 3/5/2002)
