Adela Karam Trad

Adela Karam Trad, better known as "Adelita" from Falfurrias, Texas completed her journey on earth, serving the LORD, at the age of 89. She passed on March 19, 2017. She worked and later owned Califa Store. After working for 65 years at the store, she retired on April 23, 2013 at the age of 85.

Adelita is preceded in death by her husband, Eddie K. Trad; parents, Pedro and Shaida Karam; siblings, Antonio Karam, Maria Karam Ceballos, Olga Karam Gonzales; uncles and aunts, Diego and Conchita Califa, Dr. John and Terry Califa, Bejos and Ramona Califa, and grandparents, Jacobo and Emilia Califa.

Survivors include her sister, Luisa Karam Garcia of McAllen, Texas; and a brother, Dr. Jose Karam (Cruz Adriana) of San Antonio, Texas. Also surviving her are many nieces and nephews.

A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 22, 2017at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams in Falfurrias with visitation beginning at 5:00 p.m. Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 23, 2017at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Falfurrias. Burial will follow at the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Falfurrias.

A one-time memorial gift will be sent to the Christian Refugee Relief Fund sponsored by the Catholic Relief Services in Lebanon and Jordan. Lebanon and Jordan are host to over a million persecuted Christian Refugees fleeing the wars in Syria and Iraq.
