Agapita Salinas Garza

Agapita Salinas Garza, 89, of Falfurrias, Texas, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 17, 2012 at a hospice center in Corpus Christi, Texas. She was born on March 24, 1922 to Eloiso Salinas and Maria Formosina Arredondo Salinas in Falfurrias. She was a rancher and homemaker. Agapita was a longtime member of the Falfurrias Church of the Brethren. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Alfredo Benavides Garza (1971); son Samuel Garza (2003); grandchildren Oscar Xavier Garza, Juan Jose Garza, Marivette Garza and David Roy Orta; five sisters and two brothers. She is survived by her daughters Maria Formosina (David) Huber of Goshen, IN, Lydia Garza of Las Vegas, NV, Diana Maria (Stanley) Hite of Goshen, IN and Nori Garza Arguijo of Corpus Christi, Texas; sons Jesus (Mary) Garza of Falfurrias, Texas, Alfredo (Amanda) Garza, Jr. of Falfurrias, Texas and Raudel Garza of Wheeler, Texas; daughter-in-law Sylvia Garza of Falfurrias, Texas; 32 grandchildren; 51 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; half siblings Dora Lopez and Hector Salinas and numerous nieces and nephews.

Prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at the Alaniz Funeral Home in Falfurrias with visitation beginning at 4:00 p.m.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 22, 2012 at the Alaniz Funeral Home.

Burial will follow at the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Falfurrias.
