Albeza A. Hofstetter entered into eternal rest on Monday, September 14, 2020 at a hospital in Alice, Texas at the age of 89. She was born on July 14, 1931 to Eleuterio Almaraz and Herminia Gonzalez Almaraz in Sejita, Texas. Albeza was a farm and ranch owner and operator for many years. She also held many other jobs throughout her lifetime including being a cook for the Buena Suerte Ranch Hunting Camp, County Tax Collector for Duval County, Precinct Chairman for many years, seamstress for Red Path and Concepcion Civic Center worker and volunteer. Albeza had an amazing personality and it always showed through as she was voted the Queen of the Retama Nursing Home for eight years as well as the Valentine’s Sweetheart and President.
She was welcomed into Heaven by her parents; husband, Alfred E. Hofstetter, Sr.; siblings, Luz (Alejandro Mejia and Alejandro Mora) Mejia, Herminia Almaraz, Victoria (Juan) Garcia, Israel (Maria) Almaraz, Antonia (Lionel) Garcia and Gloria Rios; brother-in-law, Carl Hofstetter and grandson, Roberto “Bobby” Leo Castellano.
She is survived by her four children, Janice (Roberto) Castellano of Sinton, Texas, Alfred E. (Leticia) Hofstetter, Jr. of Alice, Luther Dean Hofstetter of Premont, Texas and Yvonne (Russell) Mann of Alice, Texas; sister, Elva Hofstetter of Sejita, brother-in-law, Roberto Rios of Kingsville, Texas; nine grandchildren, Jose A. “Joey” Castellano, Miguel “Michael” Castellano, Daniel K. Castellano, Alfred E. Hofstetter, III, John W. Hofstetter, Amanda Hofstetter, Luther “Cody” Hofstetter, Jr., Amy Mann and Sabrina Mann ; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Luther "Cody" Hofstetter, Jr., Jose "Joey" A. Castellano, Miguel "Michael" Castellano, Daniel K. Castellano, Alfred E. Hofstetter, III and John W. Hofstetter. Honorary Pallbearers will be Alfred E. Hofstetter, Jr., Luther Dean Hofstetter and Russell Mann.
Rosary will be prayed at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, September 18, 2020 at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams in Falfurrias with Visitation beginning at 8:30 a.m. (maximum of 50 persons) Rosary will be livestreamed. Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Falfurrias (maximum of 100 persons) with services to conclude with a Burial at the Falfurrias Burial Park.
