Armour Lee Hinnant Fulbright was born August 8, 1916 in Hebbronville, Texas, to Robert and Lucy Armour Heppenstall Hinnant. She graduated from Hebbronville High School in 1933. She attended Westmoreland College in San Antonio (now Trinity University) and Texas A&I College (now Texas A&M University – Kingsville). She married Jack Fulbright in 1936.
She was preceded in death by her husband J.E. “Jack” Fulbright, parents and infant brother. She is survived by her son Robert (Agnes Dee) Fulbright of Hebbronville and granddaughters Leslee (Garret) Brandt of Basalt, Colorado, and Vicki (Chris) Calwell of Durango, Colorado. She is also survived by four great grandchildren: Robert Stevenson Brandt, Katherine Fulbright Brandt, Jennifer Huanxun Brandt and Julianne FuJun Brandt, all of Basalt, Colorado.
Armour was an avid reader. Up until the last decade of her life, she read three newspapers daily and worked the crossword puzzles in each one. She enjoyed reading magazines as well but her favorite genre by far was a good mystery-suspense novel. Armour’s distinct experiences include celebrating nearly all her life milestones in the home her parents built in 1915: birth, marriage and both 50th and 60th wedding anniversaries. Armour was also a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church of Hebbronville.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 26 at 10:00 a.m. in the First United Methodist Church of Hebbronville, with burial following at Green Hill Cemetery.
The family thanks the staff at Incarnate Word Nursing Home and Odyssey Hospice for the excellent care given Armour the last seven years of her life.
