She was born November 24, 1954 to Anastacio Cruz, Sr. and Lasara Vargas Cruz in Falfurrias. She was a loving wife of 47 years to her husband, Jose Armando Garza, mother to her three daughters, “Nana” to her seven grandchildren and many of her grandchildren’s friends as well. She was the matriarch and backbone of her family and an active member of the Falfurrias community, always eager to help with anything the family or her numerous friends needed. She held various jobs in the community in her lifetime including a Seamstress at Red Path, a Camp Manager at San Pablo Ranch and most recently, she was helping with her daughter’s cake business as well as a Home Health Provider at Partners in Care. She loved cooking for her family and caring for her grandchildren. She also enjoyed traveling with her daughters and grandkids, whether it be Disney Land, Vegas, or for a Caribbean Cruise. She had an amazing sense of humor and was known as the life of the party, often keeping people laughing with her jokes and her sometimes mischievous but always contagious laugh. Estella was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Falfurrias.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Vicenta Sanchez.
Estella is survived by her husband, Jose Armando Garza of Falfurrias; daughters; Christina Garcia of Falfurrias, Chris (Dalton) Wyatt of Corpus Christi, Texas and Clarissa (Michael Cisneros) Garza of Falfurrias; brother, Anastacio (Patricia) Cruz Jr. of San Leandro, CA; sisters, Connie (Eligio) Garcia of Simonton, Texas, Juanita “Janie” Gonzalez of Corpus Christi, Maria Isabel Bohms of Hermiston, OR and Susana Ruiz of Falfurrias; seven grandchildren, Navaeh Garcia, Jayla Garcia, Dalton Wyatt, Brody Wyatt, Makayla Wyatt, Gabriela Cisneros and Joe Michael Cisneros and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members and friends.
Pallbearers will be Joe Michael Cisneros, Dalton Wyatt IV, Seth Cruz, Leonel Garcia, Javier Garcia, John Bohms. Honorary pallbearer will be Anestacio Cruz Jr.
Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 21, 2019 at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams in Falfurrias with Visitation beginning at 5:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 22, 2019 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Falfurrias. Burial will follow at the Falfurrias Burial Park.
