One year ago today my soul cried  like it never had before. I would not be who I am today without having known you. Wish you were here.

In times of uncertainty  your reassurance and positive outlook always impressed me. Although we no longer have the sweet reassurance of your voice today I know we have the embrace of your love and memory forever.

And your memory impresses as much now as your life ever did.

I know you are enjoying the peace and beauty before you.  The majesty must be breathtaking. You deserve the grandest view of all. 

When you left, a piece of Natalie, Micah, and I went with you. I am convinced we are stronger for having lost you. I firmly believe incredible loss brings humbling growth.

Losing you left a large void in our lives. But it has caused reflection, growth, and a newfound appreciation in all things life, and love.

As he always has, GOD has used you to show others how to be genuine and live a better life. And in our own small way the world will be that much better for it.

Delia my dearest friend,
I met her well over 25yrs ago and over the years our friendship grew stronger.  Delia was a mother figure to me.  We had a very special friendship.  The memories I have are many.  We would talk for hours at a time and there wasn't a topic we didn't talk about.  We laughed, we cried and at the end of our conversation she always would say "let's pray and be in agreement." Everyday I think about the lasting impact she left in my everyday life. When I think about Delia I think of how blessed I am to have had her in my life.  I will honor her everyday by remembering the  things she taught me and how she loved me.  She is greatly missed.  I love you always and forever:)

You are a living example to my dear son Micah. I draw on your examples daily to teach him. You are the only grandmother he knew. And what a grandmother you were.

Your kind and gentle spirit was genuine. Others would do well to emulate. There was nothing false about you. Your love of GOD has left an immense impression with me. You were a true Child of GOD in every sense. I miss you daily. I am sorry we did not say goodbye.

My son has grown already because of your love and your example. I have witnessed your courage and your tenacity of love, and I have grown because of it. Natalie in time will thrive because of your strong spirit and your love for us three. We miss you already.

You were not ours to keep. We know this. Natalie,  Micah and I are forever changed because of your memory. We are closer because of your love. We are stronger because of your courage. And we are closer to His Word because of your example.

My mother in Christ. I was truly honored and blessed to have just met her, got to know her, and take care of her the last few months she had on this Earth. Jesus works in mysterious ways, and he sets every divine appointment. Meeting her was truly heaven set, a divine appointment. I learned so much from her.. her strength and faith in God is something I could never forget about her. And her groovy style (insider).. Every time I saw her she had the most gorgeous smile on her face. She loved her family more than anything. I hope my love life is just as sweet and innocent as hers and Carlos’. She had some amazing stories, that I can’t wait to share with the people who need it. Delia lives in my heart forever ♾ and for eternity she's dancing in heaven with no more suffering. I’m happy for her. You’re always dear to my heart mama. Thank you for being such a kind hearted friend/mother figure to me. I look up to you momma and I hope to be just as strong, beautiful and faithful as you..

I know every person she’s met or even talked to was able to get a glimpse of the Lord all mighty. Mrs.Delia lives on forever in our hearts and memories of her stories. Her life and death will always remain glorified by the Lord. 
Jesus is the light.. and he definitely lived inside of her. She brightened up every room, every person, and every divine encounter.

We were best of friends when all of us lived  in Lake Jackson and Turtle Cove, Texas where we lived next door to each other.  Gus and Jerry worked at the same plant in Freeport, Texas this was from 1971 to 1978. We saw there two girls Natalie and Kim grow up.  A lot of years have gone by, but I feel like it was yesterday that we were all young and full of life and  starting our future with our young kids. Your kids will carry your memory in there hearts.
Life has a way of making our time on this earth shorter than we all would like but we do the best we can and thank the Good Lord for the years we had to experience what life has to offer and except the challenges  that come our way and do our best to do the right thing. 
Delia, did what she had to do in life; right or wrong it was her way. May God Rest Her Soul for all eternity.

Delia was a beautiful person, whom I have such fond memories of when I was a young girl.  Although adulthood would separate us, the memories I have of the time I spent with her are priceless. As a teenager, I would spend  a lot of time with her parents and younger sister Melinda, my classmate and best friend. During that time, Delia loved sharing stories of the love letters she was receiving from Jerry Nickerson, who was a Marine serving time during the Vietnam conflict. She was always so excited to receive her love letters and would sit with me and share the content of her letters. I would get to visit her when she and Jerry lived in Clute, Texas, as newlyweds. She was always so beautiful and elegant. Rest in peace, sweet angel. You are now in a beautiful paradise with no pain. Till we meet again.

Delia is survived by her mother Santitos Saenz of Falfurrias, TX, her husband Carlos Romero of Kingsville, TX, two daughters Kim (Fritz) Hofstetter of Baytown, TX and Natalie Nickerson (Teddy Gallardo) of San Antonio, TX. Two sisters Melinda (Tadeo) Reyna and Margo (Mario) Delgado both of Kingsville, also surviving are her four grandchildren Sierrah Dean, Demi Hofstetter, Christian Hofstetter and Micah Gallardo and one great grandchild, Kutter Dean, and a special cousin Rena (James) Denham of Corpus Christi, TX.
