Elena Guerra Ramirez entered into eternal rest on Friday, March 31, 2023 in Falfurrias, Texas, surrounded by her family, at the age of 83. Elena was born on September 24, 1939 to Raul Guerra and Ludivina Garza in Falfurrias, Texas. She earned her Master’s Degree from A&I University and dedicated over 35 years to educating the youth of Falfurrias at Brooks County ISD. She was a charter member of the Catholic Daughters of the Sacred Heart Church in Falfurrias and the Treasurer for the Retired Teachers Association.
She was a caring mother and a devoted grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother who continuously made every effort to be present and show support for her family. She was gentle, patient, kind and most importantly, loving.
Elena was reunited in heaven with her parents; her husband, Raul Ramirez; son-in-law, Omar Trevino, Sr.; great-grandson, Gian Carlo Trevino, Jr. and brother-in-law, Oscar Garza.
Left to reminisce on the memories she leaves behind are her son, Jose Raul “J.R.” (Clarissa Garza) Ramirez of San Antonio, Texas; two daughters, Anna Maria (Damian Soliz) Ramirez Garcia and Norma Iris Trevino both of Falfurrias; brothers, Raul Guerra of Falfurrias, Gustavo Guerra of Harlingen, Texas and Orlando Guerra of Falfurrias; sisters, Ludivina Garza of Falfurrias and Anessa Guerra of Premont, Texas; 10 grandchildren, Pamela Dyan (Arnold) Sanchez, Trey (Candie Perez) Garcia, Jason (Jenay) Garcia, Jessica (Raymond Garza) Ramirez, JR (Angela) Ramirez, Jr., Benjamin (Deanna Hall) Ramirez, Omar “OJ” (Marilee Ramirez) Trevino, Jr., Victoria Yuri (Jerry Longoria) Trevino, Gian Carlo (Samantha Escalante) Trevino and Courtney Lynn (Jose Esquivel) Trevino; 20 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren and many extended family members.
Pallbearers will be her great-grandsons, Sergio Cantu, Ryan Cantu, Arnold Mireles, Aaron Mireles, Michael Ramirez and Bryan Ramirez.
Wake Service by the Catholic Daughters will begin at 6:30 p.m. and Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams in Falfurrias with Visitation beginning at 6:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Falfurrias and services will conclude with Burial at the Falfurrias Burial Park.
