

Emily Alice (Barton) Farias-Gonzalez born September 30, 1929 passed away on Sunday May 18, 2025 in Laredo Texas at the age of 95. She was a remarkable woman who graced our lives as a mother, aunt, and friend. Her unwavering strength, boundless love, and unparalleled wisdom touched all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Born to William Clinton Barton and Alicia Rodriguez Barton in Benavides Texas she dedicated her life to her family, nurturing them with patience and unconditional love. She embodied grace in every moment, teaching those around her the true meaning of compassion and perseverance.
Throughout her life, she exhibited a profound generosity that extended beyond her family. She was a guiding light and matriarch to her family, always ready to offer a helping hand or a warm smile. Her legacy is one of love – a legacy that will continue to shine through the lives of those she touched. She was a proud graduate of Benavides High School Class of 1950.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ferdinaldo Farias, Sr., her son Ferdinaldo Farias, Jr., her siblings William Eugene (Adelpha) Barton, Cleotilde Mercedes Barton, Thomas Edward Barton and her second husband Gonzalo M. Gonzalez. Also preceding her in death are her brother and sister in laws, Raymundo (Juanita) Farias, Rufino (Elide) Farias, Marilia (Frank) Soliz and Oscar Farias.
She leaves behind a loving family, her son O.A. Farias and her special niece/daughter Patricia Ann Barton-Prough, her sisters in law Julia Rogers Townsend, Melania F. Hinojosa and Esmeralda M. Farias who will cherish her memory and strive to honor her every day. Honoring her as pallbearers will be William C. Barton, Brad Prough, William C. Barton Jr., Alfonso Cavazos, Jr., Carlos Carpentier and Dusty Crow. Honorary pallbearers will be Karla Carpentier, C.J. Carpentier and Ezra Myles Trevino. Though her presence in this world has come to an end, she remains ever-present in the hearts of those who loved her.
Special Thanks go to the staff at Meridian Care of Hebbronville and the Drs and staff who were by her side while hospitalized in Laredo Medical Center.
Let us celebrate the life of a truly extraordinary woman, remembering the joy she brought into this world and the lessons she imparted that will forever guide us. She will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
The family invites all who wish to pay their respects to join them at Funeraria Del Angel-Howard Williams 401 E. Texas St. Hebbronville, TX, Saturday May 24, 2025. Visitation will begin at 8:30 a.m. with a Holy Rosary to be prayed at 9:30 a.m. Funeral mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Burial will be at the New Hebbronville Cemetery.
