Gavino Vera Chapa

Gavino Vera Chapa, 74, of Rios, Texas passed away on Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at a hospital in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was born on February 19, 1939 to Adolfo Chapa and Victoriana Vera Chapa in Duval County. Gavino worked for many years in the construction industry for Kellogg Brown & Root Engineering and Construction of Houston, Texas until his retirement. He was welcomed into the gates of Heaven by our Lord; his parents, Adolfo and Victoriana Chapa, his two brothers, Ernesto and Israel Chapa and his brother-in-law, Raul Trejo.

He leaves behind to cherish his memories his four brothers, Adolfo (Gertrudis) Chapa of Corpus, Lorenzo (Lamar) Chapa of Alice, TX, Antonio Santiago (Norma) Chapa of Premont and Delfino (Aurora) Chapa of Corpus; four sisters, Aminta (Gilberto) Saenz of Falfurrias, TX, Belinda Trejo of Corpus Christi, Esmeralda (Ruben) Garcia of Alice and Hilda (Cosme) Garza of Rios, TX; two aunts, Rosa Perez of Premont and Secundina Rios of Kingsville, TX; two sisters-in law, Petra Chapa of Corpus Christi and Virginia Chapa of Sinton, TX and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

We will always remember your words “I love you too much.”

A Holy Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, October 4, 2013 at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams in Falfurrias with visitation beginning at 4:00 p.m.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 5, 2013 at Saint Theresa’s Catholic Church in Premont.

Burial will follow at the Gonzalez Family Cemetery on County Road 217 in Rios.
