Gloria S. Garza entered into eternal rest on Thursday, July 4, 2019 in San Antonio, Texas at the age of 91. She was born on November 3, 1927 to Manuel Salinas and Juanita Beckham Salinas in Falfurrias, Texas.
Gloria retired from teaching at the age of 65, after being an educator for over 42 years. She taught Kindergarten, Special Education Life Skills and Art in Falfurrias, Hebbronville, Encino and at the Santa Fe Ranch. She was an avid member of the Catholic Daughters and a Lector for the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Falfurrias for many years. Gloria had a spunky personality and loved to dance and sing. She enjoyed baking and playing Santa for her family.
She was reunited in Heaven with her parents; husband, Eliborio Garza; son, Gerardo “Jerry” Garza; grandson, Bryan Garza and her siblings, Estella Canales, Noe Guerra, Sr. and Rolando Salinas.
She leaves behind to cherish her memories her three sons, Eliborio Garza, Jr. of Falfurrias, David (Yvonne Marie) Garza of Corpus Christi, Texas and Eddie (Melinda) Garza of Falfurrias; two daughters, Sandra (Luis) Guerra of Del Rio, Texas and Vicky (Ralph) Gonzalez of San Antonio; 12 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren with one on the way; her beloved dog, Toby and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 11, 2019 at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams in Falfurrias with Visitation beginning at 5:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, July 12, 2019 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Falfurrias. Burial will follow at the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Falfurrias.
