Gloria Berta Sanchez, mostly known as Bertha, entered eternal rest on Thursday, February 6, 2025 at her residence in Premont, Texas at the age of 76. She was born June 12, 1948 to Lorenzo Hinojosa Sanchez and Esperanza Martinez Sanchez in Falfurrias, Texas. Bertha was an educator of elementary grade students for Premont ISD for over 33 years. She was known for being direct and was never afraid to express her thoughts. She was an avid Dallas Cowboys and San Antonio Spurs fan and never missed getting her numbers in for the games. She also enjoyed taking trips to Kickapoo Casino.
Bertha was reunited in Heaven with her parents, maternal aunt, Natividad Consuelo Martinez and many more family members.
She leaves behind to remember the many memories her brother, Rene Sanchez of Premont; sister, Guadalupe (Salvador Jr.) Johnson; three nephews, Danny (Cory) Sanchez of Falfurrias, Juan Carlos (Claria) Sanchez of Premont and Marcos (Laci) Johnson of San Antonio, Texas; three nieces, Alnita Johnson of Premont, Marla (Stephen) Garcia of San Antonio and Liza Sanchez of Corpus Christi, Texas and numerous great-nieces, great-nephews and extended family.
Pallbearers will be Marcos Johnson, Juan Carlos Sanchez, Danny Sanchez, Stephen Garcia, Quisto Sanchez and Sabastian Garcia. Honorary Pallbearers are Makayla Garcia, Brianna Valdez and Isabella Johnson.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. on Friday, February 14, 2025 at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams in Falfurrias. Rosary will follow at 11:15 a.m. at the St. Theresa's Catholic Church in Premont and Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:45 a.m. Services will conclude with Burial and the Premont Cemetery.
