Jovita “Jay” Trevino Carrasco entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at her residence in Robstown, Texas at the age of 85. She was born on December 2, 1936 to Eliseo Trevino, Sr. and Felicita “Reyna” San Miguel Trevino in Premont, Texas. She worked for many years as a housekeeper. She also worked for several years as a Janitor at Calallen Elementary School. Jovita was a devoted member of the St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church of Robstown. She loved sewing, making pillows and quilting. She bestowed a personal quilt upon almost every family member.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Santos Carrasco, Jr.; granddaughter, Carole Lee Viers; grandson, Juan Angel Carrasco, Jr.; great-grandsons, Isaac DeLeon and Robert DeLeon; brothers, Pedro Trevino and Eliseo Trevino, Jr. and sisters, Mary Hinojosa and Beva Trevino.
She is survived by her four sons, Santos (Mary Alice) Carrasco, III of Corpus Christi, Texas, Joe Robert (Carlene) Carrasco of Robstown, Eliseo (Rose) Carrasco of Robstown and Juan (Kira) Carrasco of Corpus Christi; three daughters, Nelda Viers, Maggie (Farhad) Ebrahimpour and Yolanda Carrasco all of Robstown; sister, Hope (Ellis) Settlemeyer of Louisiana; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
Pallbearers will be Wayne Pierce, James Mendez, JD Garcia, Jesus Garcia, Christopher Carrasco and William Valent.
Rosary will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 27, 2022 at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams in Falfurrias with Visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m. Funeral Mass will follow at 11:15 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Falfurrias. Services will conclude with Burial at the Sacred Heart Cemetery.
