

Manuel Arevalo Jaime passed away on Monday, April 04, 2016 at El Campo Memorial Hospital of natural causes at the age of 96. He was born on November 19, 1919 to Alfredo Jaime and Hilaria Arevalo Jaime in Premont, Texas. Manuel proudly served in the United States Army as a Staff Sergeant in the Philippines during World War II. He defended his country for five years until he was honorably discharged after receiving three Purple Hearts and two Bronze stars. After the war, Manuel attended the University of Texas (Austin) where he received a Bachelor in Chemistry and Physics. He then received a Master in Education from Texas A&M (College Station). Manuel became a Professor at Wharton County Junior College where he taught Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics courses for over thirty years. After retiring, he enjoyed working on the ranch, playing golf, exploring computers and most of all enjoying a good cup of coffee. He is survived by his wife Alicia Chavana Jaime, Wharton; three children Joseph Manuel Jaime (Sheryl),Tomball; Belinda Jaime Paul (James), El Campo; David Jaime, Corpus Christi, Texas and two grandsons Robert Paul, San Antonio and Joseph Ricardo Jaime, Corpus Christi.
Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 7, 2016 at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams in Falfurrias with visitations beginning at 4:00 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 8, 2016 at the Sacred Heart Church in Falfurrias. Burial will follow at the Falfurrias Burial Park.
