Ofelia M. Garza

Ofelia M. Garza enter into the gates of Heaven on Tuesday, August 26, 2014 in a Laredo, Texas. She was born on December 5, 1923 to Jorge Mendez and Olivia Lerma in Falfurrias, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Santiago S. Garza; brothers, Guadalupe, Pedro and Jorge Mendez and sister, Lilia M. Garcia. Ofelia leaves behind to cherish her memories her sons, Jose Homero (Socorro) Garza of Zapata, Texas, Santiago Roberto (Hilda) Garza and Juan Alberto (Sara) Garza all of Hebbronville, Texas; daughters, Benilde (David) Morales and Gloria G. (Hector) Ramos both of Hebbronville; brothers, Emilio Mendez of Chicago and Emiliano Mendez of Somerset; sisters, Celestina M. Pena of Hebbronville, Olivia M. Garcia of Kingsville, Texas, Leandra Escareno of Chicago, Isabel Garcia of Chicago and Beatrice Roberts of Las Vegas; 15 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren.

Holy rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 28, 2014 at Funeraria Del Angel Howard-Williams in Hebbronville.

Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 29, 2014 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Hebbronville.

Interment will follow at the New Hebbronville Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be David Morales, Jr., Eli Morales, Mark Morales, Hector Gerardo Ramos, James Edward Ramos and Jose Homero Garza, Jr.

Honorary pallbearers will be Hildeliza Marianela Villarreal, Jessica Carmina Garza, Abigal Arely Garza, Lorissa Yvette Garcia, Adela Edelmira Salazar, Adriana Ester Soliz, Alyssa Elisandra Garza, Leslie Ann Menchaca and Natalie Marie Garza.
