Oscar Villa, Sr., a resident of Falfurrias, Texas, passed away Thursday, July 7, 2016 at the age of 90. Oscar was born on July 30, 1926 to Alberto Villa and Victorina Ybarra Villa in Falfurrias. He was a proud United States Navy Veteran who served as a Seaman, Second Class, during WWII. Later in life, Oscar played the drums for the Beto Villa Band for more than 25 years. He then worked in the maintenance department for over 20 years with Brooks County ISD and the Brooks County Hospital.
Oscar is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Consuelo Canales Villa; brothers, Alberto “Beto” Villa, Ruben Villa and Arturo Villa and by his sisters, Aurora Guerra and Minerva Ruiz.
He is survived by his two sons, Omar J. Villa of Falfurrias and Oscar Rene “Bullet” Villa, Jr. of Kingsville, Texas; one sister, Maria Louisa Barrera of Dallas, Texas and many friends.
Visitation will be held from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. on Monday, July 11, 2016 at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams in Falfurrias. Burial will follow at the Premont Cemetery at 10:00 a.m.
