Petra G. Cantu

Petra G. Cantu, 77, was called home by the Lord on Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at a hospital in Laredo, Texas. She was born on October 19,1935 to Demetrio Gonzalez and Amalia Ruiz Gonzalez in Zapata, Texas. She was a home provider.

Petra was welcomed into the gates of Heaven by her parents; son, Rene E. Cantu; grandson, David Davila; two great-grandsons, Angel Ramirez and Ricardo Javier Martinez; sisters, Anita Garza, Maria Saenz and Guadalupe Alaniz; half sister, Maria Arrendondo and half brother, Remigio Gonzalez.

Petra leaves behind to cherish her memories her husband, Rufino M. Cantu; son, Orlando Cantu; daughters, Susie (Leonel) Ramirez, Alma (Beto) Villarreal, Cynthia (Erasmo) Davila and Glenda (Librando Molina) Cantu all of Hebbronville,Texas, brother, Juvenal Gonzalez of Alice, Texas; sister, Aida Chapa of Laredo; 17 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 8, 2013 at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams in Hebbronville with visitation beginning at 4:00 p.m.

Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 9, 2013 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Hebbronville.

Interment will follow at the New Hebbronville Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Leonel Ramirez, Jr., Orlando Javier Cantu, Geraldo Omar Cantu, Eben Geraldo Villarreal, Daryl Edward Davila, Danny Elias Davila, Rene Eden Cantu, Jr. and Liberando Molina, III.
