Ramona was a retired Jim Hogg County School cafeteria worker. Ramona was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother as well as a devoted sister helping raise her younger siblings at a young age. Ramona was the matriarch to our family. She was most noted for caring for her grandchildren and great grandchildren with fond memories of taking them on summer trips over the years, attending school functions, drop off and pick ups from school. She also had a passion for cooking and gardening.
Ramona's home was a gathering place for many holidays, birthdays, and family celebrations throughout the years. Despite her condition of Alzheimer she never lost her essence of wittiness and love for her family. Her spirit shined through her silly gestures.
Pallbearers will be Enrique Cantu Jr, Enrique Cantu III, Danny Barrera, Gary Salinas, Matthew Garza, and Javier Gonzalez. Honorary Pallbearer will be Derick Salinas.
The family would like to thank Jesi Rodriguez, BSN, RN and Letty Canales, CNA with The Medical Hospice for their compassionate care.
