Raquel G. Maldonado entered into eternal rest and glory on the early morning of Saturday, September 10, 2022 in the comfort of her home, at 92 years of age. She was born in Hebbronville, Texas on September 3, 1930 to Alfonso and Francisca Garcia. Raquel graduated from Hebbronville High School in 1949 and immediately began working at the local Telephone Company. In 1956 Raquel married the love of her life, Carlos H. Maldonado, and together they built a family and had four children while working and eventually retiring from the local school district.
Raquel was a devout Catholic and proud member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas as well as the VFW Auxiliary. Throughout her life, Raquel devoted much of her time in service to the Catholic Church and was very involved in several capacities. Her love for the church was evidently clear and something that she passed on to her children which she held close to her heart.
Raquel was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved her husband dearly and took care of him during his time of need through the end of his life. Raquel’s boundless love for her children was something that was only rivaled by her absolute love and devotion to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom she adored.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Carlos H. Maldonado, Sr.; her parents, Alfonso and Francisca Garcia; siblings Anibal C. Garcia, Alfonso E. Garcia, Gloria G. Martinez and Roberto S. Garcia, Sr.
