Roberto "Dad" Casanova passed away Saturday, December 12, 2015 at a hospital in Kingsville, Texas at the age of 86. Roberto was born April 20, 1929 to Esteban Casanova and Maria Trevino Casanova in the town of Falfurrias, Texas. He was a retired Cowboy who at one time worked for the Seeligson Ranch. Almost everyone who knew him called him Dad.
Roberto was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Rosario Casanova.
He is survived by his wife, Criselda G. Casanova of Premont, Texas; two sons, Roel "Role" (Rebecca) Casanova of Springtown, Texas and Richard (Nadia) Mata of Premont; two daughters, Maria Ester Casanova of Greely, Colorado and Rachel Casanova of Hobbs, New Mexico; a sister, Olivia Plata of Falfurrias; four grandchildren, three great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Rosary will be prayed at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, December 13, 2015 at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams in Falfurrias, Texas with visitation beginning at 5:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, December 14, 2015 at St. Theresa's Catholic Church in Premont. Burial will follow at El Rancho Destrozo on CR 401 B in Jim Wells County.
