

Roberto “Robert” Salazar, 61, passed away Friday January 7, 2011 at a hospital in Brownsville, Texas. He was born on September 1, 1949 to Ricardo Salazar and Eva Moreno Salazar in Falfurrias, Texas. Robert bravely served our Country as a Cpl. for the United States Marine Corp where he received a Purple Heart during the Vietnam War. He then decided to continue his education and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. After teaching for several years Robert later became the Post Master for the Los Indios, Texas post office.
Robert is preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his loving wife Yolanda Sanchez Salazar of Brownsville, Texas, two sons Roberto Ricardo Salazar of Washington, D.C. and Marco Joaquin Salazar of Brownsville, Texas and two daughters Lourdes (Daniel) Zamarripa of Houston, Texas and Luana Yvette Salazar of Brownsville, Texas. He is also survived by two brothers Rene (Linda) Salazar and Ricardo Salazar, two sisters Maria Elva Delbosques and Elenora “Nora” (Ruben) Figueroa all of Falfurrias, Texas, five grandchildren, favorite aunt Manuela Salazar, half-brothers and many nieces and nephews.
Prayer Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday January 10, 2011 at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams in Falfurrias with visitation beginning at 4:00 p.m.
Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday January 11, 2011 at the Puerta Del Cielo Asambleas de Dios at 135 W. 10th Street in Falfurrias with Consuelo Rodriguez officiating.
Burial will follow at the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Falfurrias.
