

Rufino M. Cantu entered into eternal rest on Monday, November 20, 2023 surrounded by his family at the age of 89. He was born on November 18, 1934 to Rufino Cantu and Guadalupe Garcia Cantu in Laredo, Texas.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Petra G. Cantu; sons, Rene Cantu and Orlando Cantu; grandson, David Davila; great-grandsons, Angel Ramirez and Ricardo Javier Martinez; son-in-law, Leonel Ramirez; brothers, Pablo, Nicasio and Raymundo Cantu and sisters, Angelina Gomez and Benilde Gonzalez.
Rufino leaves behind many fond memories that will forever be cherished by his daughters, Susie Ramirez, Almo (Beto) Villarreal, Cynthia (Erasmo) Davila and Glenda (Liberando Molina) Cantu all of Hebbronville, Texas; sisters, Armandina C. Vela of Corpus Christi, Texas and Anita C. Chapa of Wharton, Texas; 17 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Leonel Ramirez, Jr., Orlando Javier Cantu, Gerardo Cantu, Eben Villarreal, Daryl Davila, Danny Davila, Rene Cantu, Jr.,and Liberando Molina, III.
Rosary will be prayed at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, November 24, 2023 at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams in Hebbronville with Visitation beginning at 8:30 a.m. Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Hebbronville and services will conclude at the New Hebbronville Cemetery.
