Sandra was born on December 27, 1969, to Aurelio and Maria del Rosario Guerra Garza. Sandra valued family time and was always ready for a festive occasion. Her laugh and smile could brighten anyone’s day. Sandra was a devoted mother who was involved in the Premont band booster, 4H organization, and taught CCD classes at Sacred Heart Catholic Church her children are a part of.
A dedicated educator, Sandra taught preschool for more than 21 years and loved all her students. Her patient and nurturing spirit shined through her teaching. Sandra earned her bachelor’s degree from Texas A&I University-Kingsville.
She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Taurino and Maria Luisa Guerra, aunt, Tina Guerra and uncle, Jose Luis Guerra.
She is survived by her husband, Jesus “Jesse” Vargas; children, Joshua I. Vargas, and Jadyn H. Vargas; parents, Aurelio and Mary Garza; brother, Andres “Andy” (Brittany) Garza; sister, Elizabeth (Jay) Lancaster; special cousins, Carlos Guerra, Emilio Guerra, Luci Lopez Mouton and Lilli Lopez; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
A rosary will be prayed at 6 p.m. on Monday, January 23, 2023, at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams in Falfurrias with visitation beginning at 4 p.m. Services will conclude with a funeral mass at 12 p.m. on Tuesday, January 24, 2023, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Falfurrias.
